Quiet Moon on Chaotic Night

Quiet Moon on Chaotic Night Looking at this picture it just looks like such a quiet night, one where you would just lay back and stare at the moon. In actuality, it was pure chaos. But even in the chaos, there was something that represented a beautiful thing, a friendship. I met my best friend many years ago in an online support group. We met through a networking site for people with Lyme disease.  Now skip ahead several years, more then ten. We went from being online friends to hosting many Lyme awareness events together, to becoming super good friends. Each year I used to travel to my friend's house to visit, and lots of our other friends with Lyme would meet us too. Over the years we got older and sicker and weren't able to participate in the activism anymore and friends fell off and went their own way, but we remained friends and stayed in touch, not just online but visiting each other each year as we are able. About ten days ago I got a phone call, well I should say a ...

Lily Pads on a Peaceful Day

Lily pads on the Mississippi River  I took this picture when I visited a little fishing nook by my house on the Wisconsin/Iowa border. It's a quiet little spot where fisherman gather to catch their fish in an inlet of the Mississippi River. For me, I just like to sit and listen to the sounds of nature and watch beautiful pelicans and Cormorants fly across the water and take pics of all the beautiful-ness I see there.  If you like my photography please visit my gift shop: Through My Lens

Pink Sun at Dawn

Pink Sun at Dawn I took this picture in August of 2021. The bright pink sun setting behind the trees in front of my house was just gorgeous. The camera could not picture the brilliancy of the pink. I just sat and watched the sun go down behind the trees until I couldn't see it anymore. The sad part of this picture, is that the sun is so pretty and pink because of the wildfires out West in California and up North in Canada. The smoke is blowing over and down and causing the sun and moon to have some pretty unusual although beautiful colors. So as I watch the sun go down every night, I pray for all the people being affected by these fires. I pray for the energy of the trees, plants, that the animals are safe there. It's so odd that there is always beauty in ugliness. ~ Lisa If you like my photographs then stop by and visit my gift shop. Thanks for looking and supporting my art and photography! Resting Squirrel

Resting Squirrel Summer of 2021 I was sitting in the back yard and this silly little guy wanted to play. He was running up and down the tree with other squirrels, ducking under my chair, and hiding under the little kid's playground slide that is outside for my grandkids. He was not deterred at all that I was sitting in the chair he was playing under. It was almost as if he was posing for pictures. This little guy brought a lot of joy to my day, just watching him be carefree and silly. Nothing does the heart and soul good like nature.  Is there anyone else out there that loves squirrels like I do? I could just sit and watch them play. They are so adorable.  Here are some of my squirrel photos that I have taken and put on products in my Zazzle store.  Thank you for reading and supporting my photography and art! ~ Lisa Funny Squirrels by Lil Bit of Everything

American White Pelicans

American White Pelicans Hey there. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pics. I took this picture of these gorgeous pelicans swimming on the Mississippi River in Wisconsin, right at the Iowa/Wisconsin border at O'Leary's Fishing Spot.  This is a beautiful spot where people fish, and kids play and the pelicans all swim together with Cormorants. I like to just take a small picnic for myself to just reflect on things, or sometimes bring the grandkids to just sit and watch the beauty of nature in this spot.  If you like this picture, please visit my pelican photos collection in my Zazzle gift shop.  ~ Lisa Pelicans by ThroughMyLens
