American White Pelicans

Hey there. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pics. I took this picture of these gorgeous pelicans swimming on the Mississippi River in Wisconsin, right at the Iowa/Wisconsin border at O'Leary's Fishing Spot.

This is a beautiful spot where people fish, and kids play and the pelicans all swim together with Cormorants. I like to just take a small picnic for myself to just reflect on things, or sometimes bring the grandkids to just sit and watch the beauty of nature in this spot.

Platteville City Park - Pride Picnic - Music in the Park & Chalk Art

Platteville City Park This park has a lot going on, almost all the time! So if you are in the area stop on by and see what event it happening today! Even on peaceful days, you can look at the Veteran Memorial statues, each depicting a different war and just enjoy the shady lawn. There is a beautiful pavilion, a water fountain and park benches and picnic tables. Music in the Park When the weather turns nice in Platteville, they start "Music in the Park." Every Thursday different local bands play, food trucks line the streets and they serve ice cream and Platteville Root beer on occasion. Kids dance, adults dance, and the park is full of people who brought their own lawn chairs and blanekts to lounge on. Just remember to bring your bug spray. A.Y. McDonald Park in Dubuque, Iowa

A.Y. McDonald Park Another cute park in Dubuque, Iowa is A.Y. McDonald Park or as me and my grandkids call it, Kerper Park. It's right on the Mississippi Rifer with lots of scenic views of boats, barges and the Dubuque Bridge. There is plenty of playground for the kids and trails for the adults to walk around. You'll see lots of people walking their dogs here. Also people fishing is a common thing to see here. You might also see some Eagles and seagulls here plus an occasional pelican swim by.
